On Reviews and Names For Balrogs

Replying to Reviews is a Joy. 

No, really, it is. I love being able to respond and thank a user for commenting on my fics. I love hearing what the readers thought and having their input on my work. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.

Also, I've decided to continue Child of Dying Embers but now I have a problem. 

I need names for Balrogs and have no idea how to make one of my own. I mean, I could make a Valarin name somehow and then translate that into Quenya and Sindarin but the problem is I have no idea where to get a Valarin name.

If any of you have any websites to recommend that would be great. :)

Now, we all probably know about the House of Finarfin the fair. We know of their valour, and strength. Their wisdom and fair judgement. We know of the fact that they were ridiculously pretty if only because Galadriel and her father Finarfin were described as such.

 

We also know that Finrod tore a werewolf’s throat out with his teeth and that Galadriel threw down the walls of Dol-Guldur. We know that Aegnor and Angrod were warrirors, likely of great strength considering they held the frontlines, and that Orodreth and Findulius were likely badass in their own right.

 

(I mean, come on, it took Sauron and his minions to make Orodreth flee  Minas Tirith that was then turned into Tol-in-Gaurhoth. He must have been some sort of badass to last that long.)

 

And Finarfin?

 

Finarfin led an army in the War of Wrath. That’s pretty badass by itself.

 

Now, this is mostly canon, things you probably already know. What I think is that the House of Finarfin was really good at making people think they were nicer and less dangerous than they were. That they used smiles and small gestures of kindness and the fact they listened and seemed to care for their people as a way to appear less dangerous. That even though they put on a nice front if you hurt someone they deemed ‘theirs’ they would destroy you.

 

They used their reputation of being kind and gentle to make it seem as though they were gullible and easy to take advantage of when they could turn all your plans around on you in an instant or, if they felt like it, kill you in less time it took for you to realize what the pretty blonde you were talking to was doing.

 

Everyone is really lucky they are almost as nice as they appear to be otherwise the Noldor would be fucked.

 

(also now i really want to write or rp something that is basically politics between finarfin and feanor whoops)

 

Basically every single arafinwion can and will kill you, they might do it with regret, or they might do it with eyes as cold as winter. Either way, you’re fucked.
